Energy Efficiency Policy and Regulation

This course will focus on the policy and regulatory aspects of energy efficiency. Students would learn about the different levels of government involved in energy efficiency, from local to national and international. The course will cover the various policies and programs for promoting energy efficiency, including building codes, appliance standards, energy labeling, and energy efficiency standards for industrial processes. Students will also learn about the role of market-based mechanisms, such as carbon pricing and energy efficiency certificates, in promoting energy efficiency.
